After 4 years of living in Maha Sarakham for college, I am very familiar with the few beautiful places especially the best cafes in Maha Sarakham. This blog will share with you the cafes that I think are worth visiting in Maha Sarakham.
Tripadvisor’s list of cafes in Maha Sarakham is too outdated and well, not personal enough. So if you are looking for somewhere the locals actually go, check out these coffee shops.
1. Safehouse Cafe (one of the best cafes in Maha Sarakham)
At the top of the list is a personal favorite mainly because of how much time I spent here studying. Safehouse Cafe is hidden in a small alley behind the 7/11. The cafe is a serene garden house with a beautiful green lawn, flowers, and a fountain. Two lazy but chubby cats guard the cafe, so enter cautiously.
Jokes aside, this cafe is perfect for studying or taking photos, making you feel like sitting in a dreamlike garden. Moreover, it’s a family-run business and the owners are incredibly sweet.

2. Taeyeon Cafe
The next one on the list of the best cafes in Maha Sarakham is Taeyeon Cafe, perfect for those wanting to update their Instagram feed. The cafe is designed in a minimalist white color scheme with natural elements as the contrast. It gives off cafes with a K-Drama vibe. Its location is very special, being right by the water, it gives a very scenic view when the sun sets.
There is recently a pool installed, in the cafe, something you would not expect to see, not in Maha Sarakham.

3. White House
Another cafe in Maha Sarakham that has been getting a lot of attention is the White House cafe. Frequented by the college students of Maha Sarakham University for its hipster and picturesque aesthetic, the cafe is also a flower shop lined with beautiful and rare flowers like hydrangeas you can purchase at an affordable price.

4. Mena Mesa
We cannot skip this one if we talk about the best cafe in Maha Sarakham. The Meena Mesa Cafe is a cafe slash park that is a beautiful recreational place for families. There is a huge space to roam with cabana-like seatings in a pond, an air-conditioned seating zone, and many greeneries to rest your eyes on. Note that there are not that many power outlets so if you are planning on studying or working at this cafe, you gotta rely on luck in finding a seat close to the power outlet.

5. The Mogul Cafe
Putting a twist on the traditional cafe, this one combines coffee and nature very well. It’s slightly further away from the University but the distance is worth going. The cafe is vast built into a farm land with ponds, wooden bridges, vegetable plantations, and a man-made hill with a bar on top. Those who want to spend an entire day at a cafe can do so at the Mogul Cafe for you can buy a cocktail and listen to a beautiful live music band.

6. Brotherhood
The Brotherhood cafe is also popular among students because of how much space facilitates group projects and work. There is a power outlet at every table and a nice little garden with a wooden house and swing in the backyard. This one is not far from the University and is probably the most reachable one by walking.

7. Defect
Last but not least is the Defect Cafe, which is in the Kham Riang Area and can be reached from the University via a Songthaew. If you are into industrial architecture, you might like this cafe. The cafe is painted in a grey theme and is perfect for relaxation. It’s a nice place to talk business or just hang out with friends, not very suitable for studying but it is still a great cafe nonetheless.

And that’s it folks, these are personally the best cafes in Maha Sarakham that I found very charming and comforting during my study there. If you have any recommendations on where the cool cafes in Maha Sarakham are, let me know in the comments. I hope you enjoy the quaint province as much as I did.
